Sociedad de los Conquistadores
Conquistador in Spanish means 'conqueror,' one who overcomes or surmounts. Historically, the word refers to Spaniards without inheritance who led expeditions to the newly discovered Americas in search of fortune and fame. The most successful conquistador was Hernan Cortes, who in 1521, with some 800 men and 16 horses, armed with swords, lances, crossbows, and a few small cannon, and with the aid of native American allies, overran the mighty Aztec Empire in Mexico. Francisco Pizarro similarly conquered the Inca Empire in Peru.
Sociedad de los Conquistadores, Society of the Conquistadors, is a worldwide organization of individuals dedicated to celebrating human exploration and conquest in science, art, technology, and politics but particularly in business. While postmodern egalitarian ideals have bred a cult of mediocrity and a repression of individual ambition, today's Conquistadors are unashamedly dedicated to personal excellence, achievement, and success, to our own private reconquista.
Conocimiento. Riqueza. Fuerza. As heirs to the conquistador tradition, we cherish a life of bold adventure in the pursuit of knowledge, wealth, and power.
